Along with Revell and other brands, the Monogram is one of the more traditional companies plastimodels the United States. Founded in 1945 by Jack Besser and Bob Reder as a company of wooden models, the company was later acquired by Mattel Inc. in the early '70s.
In the '60s, Monogram and Revell were rivals, but subsequently the company became one. In May 2007, Revell-Monogram Inc. was acquired by Hobbico
Among the most popular models from Monogram are the jet fighters in the scale 1 / 48 scale cars and 1 / 24.
