dragon-1-35-us-1st-cavalry-000

If you're looking for detailed and well sculpted figures of the Vietnam War and a low price, this set of Dragon was made for you.

The set 3312 of "Nam" Series, US1st Cavalry on the scale 1 / 35 the quality of the figures follows the Dragon. Very well detailed, the kit brings a great addition to the soldiers "collection" of accessories such as canteens, grenades, small knapsacks, bayonets, radio and - of course - right arms to accompany soldiers of the time. M16A1 rifles are, XM177, a grenade launcher and M60 machine gun.

Review German Fuel Drum Set 1 / 35 Tamiya

Posted by Marcelo On August - 18-2009

german-fuel-drum-set-1-35-000

Go straight to the point and bluntly. This is a set very useful for anyone who rides models militaria from World War II in the scale 1 / 35. With German-style barrels (those with larger rings around the center of the cylinder) and jerry cans for water and fuel, the set is a great source for equipment replacement kits in militaria or to compose scenes, vignettes, dioramas or trucks .

german-fuel-drum-set-1-35-001

The positive point of this set are the valves present in the kit and fuel pumps. This can greatly help those looking for this kind of complement to dioramas and vignettes.

Worth having this set at home for an event. Note the lack of figure 8. The picture on the box makes you feel like having them on hand to compose the scenarios. Otherwise the set is very good.

Review M-109A6 Paladin 1 / 35 Revell

Posted by Marcelo On July - 11-2009

revell-m109a6-paladin-1-35-000

I like this kit. It is robust, complete, one has to be shielded even jeitão. Of course the actual vehicle assistance, as is the same impression to be seen.

But let the kit. The M-109A6 Paladin of Revell in scale 1 / 35 is injected into the dark green plastic and will need good coats of primer or paint it if you want to paint it in areira to represent the type used in Iraq, OIF opreação. Nothing much. The model for Revell, moreover, makes no version in use in the desert. If you want to ride one of these badges should be able to cohere and numbers of other kits.

The details are all there and are injected hinges, rails, rivets and screws - very nice detail when staging a kit of this size.

revell-m109a6-paladin-1-35-007

The model has the features "boxes" on the back of the tower. These "boxes" can be left to the side or back, just like the real vehicle.

Several "jerrycans" are available, but all the version of water transport.

As commander of the armament of the dome kit desponibiliza two options: the traditional .50 machine gun and a grenade launcher Mk.40 - take your pick.

revell-m109a6-paladin-1-35-021

The tracks are made of vinyl and are kind of continuous.

A sheet of decals provides markings for vehicles used in Bosnia, KFOR and painting for these cars is the disguised version of NATO, in three shades.

In short, is a great kit. Recommend without fear. Note 10 for sure!

Review M42 Duster 1 / 35 Tamiya

Posted by Marcelo On June - 27-2009

tamiya-m42-duster-1-35-000

This is a typical example of kit, the modeler is not careful, when he finished it gets expensive toy. Well, unfortunately, but it's true. Dating from the early 70s, this is so far the only market Duster in scale 1 / 35.

The kit is in classic example of the first Tamiya molds. Do not expect to find any masterpiece to open a box of cable. But it has its charm and so still keep it in the collection and wish to ride it one day.

tamiya-m42-duster-1-35-002

The parts are well cast as far as possible, ie have no burrs or flaws visible model. However, many of them are oversized and look like a toy even. A good example are the scopes of the two cannons, which in the real model are made of metal, the kit is a single piece with "design" of sight, with a hole in the middle. Neither here nor anywhere it looks like the real. The sugtestão is that the modeler will find a variety of options in the sights photoetch 1 / 35 the market and replace them.

The hatches are molded in plastic and can not be assembled open. Another flaw in the model, but this is actually a feature of the kits of the time, is that the tools are also molded into the hull of the armored, leaving the more expensive model with a little seriousness modelist.

Review Merkava Mk III 1 / 35 Academy

Posted by Marcelo On June - 9-2009

academy-merkava-mk-iii-1-35-0001

The Merkava is one of the armored combat vehicles more powerful and deadly of the planet. A truly proud Israeli and a veteran of several campaigns with the IDF.

academy-merkava-mk-iii-1-35-0011

The kit of the Academy Merkava III is not the most accurate. It is a relatively old model and is known in the middle of militaria modelist that this is a kit with "serious" errors in the tower.

The errors are yes, yes, but I did not commit the errors that the final model. What more note is the tower. The Academy model is closer to the Block III version of the Merkava Mk III and not the final version.

academy-merkava-mk-iii-1-35-0211

On the kit, apart from this failure dictates that I confess not matter to me, there is one that considermo more "serious": the lack of surface anti-sliders on the flat parts of the upper Merkava.

This point can be corrected by the modeler, but it certainly will work.

academy-merkava-mk-iii-1-35-0221

Another point that could have been improved by the Academy are correct and dea steel balls that are present on the back of the tower. These chains and balls serve to shield the vulnerable part of the joint body of the tower-tank.

academy-merkava-mk-iii-1-35-0081

A highlight of the kit are the rubber rings of the wheels also present in the real model cast in black rubber in the kit.

The decals are also very nicely printed and complete.

The "worms" are vinyl and molded with the links attached to each other.

academy-merkava-mk-iii-1-35-0261

Overall a good kit, getting a 7, but is to be fitted with a good point. There are sets in the market update. May be a good model to build an even more precise.

If you do not mind the small issues and want a Merkava III in his collection, this is the kit. It is not expensive and is nice after mounted.

Review M1A2 Abrams 1 / 35 Trumpeter

Posted by Marcelo On May - 21 - 2009

m1a2-abrams-trumpeter-1-35-000

There are several kits of Abrams on the market and this is another one. I shall not address here what he's wrong or right, but I stick to the modeller is to open the box.

Injected plastic colored caramel, Abrams Trumpeter may well serve as a basis for a beautiful model. It has anti-slippery areas (anti-slip) present in armored real and all the details for building an Abrams really interesting.

The cast is the same from others Abrams Trumpeter, but has a tree with additional details of the model A2.

m1a2-abrams-trumpeter-1-35-002

m1a2-abrams-trumpeter-1-35-005

m1a2-abrams-trumpeter-1-35-007

The mats come in two options: link-by-link or emvinil. The option is the modeler.

m1a2-abrams-trumpeter-1-35-006

The decals are not the most accurate and the standard of painting not a "standard". I honestly do not ride out of the box. I would base for pictures and choose one of several sets of decals that are on the market for the M1A1 1 / 35.

The conclusion is that when buying this kit the modeler will have a relatively accurate model and a fair price. It is recommended for anyone who is not as neurotic precision of unassembled and only the most recognized brands. It is a kit footnote 7.
