Review F-5E Tiger II AFV club 1 / 48

Posted by Marcelo On March - 14-2010

The kit is the code AR48102 and box art is very appealing. Bring the F-5E performing a curve to the right and behind him there is an F-15 in a closed curve to the left. The F-5E's box art is the 01 573 aircraft bearing the markings of the 64th FWS, 57th FWW, USAF.

The first surprise in the box is the presence of a mini-poster of the box art. For those who like to make paintings with the box art, is a great gift!

The decals seem to be good. However decals are always uncertain. We only know if they are really good time to apply them to the model. This kit comes with four options for markings:

- Royal Malaysian Air Force, 12 Squadron;
- Singapore Air Force No. 144 Squadron;
- U.S. Navy VFC-13;
- U.S. Air Force, 64th FWS, 57th FWW.

There is a small set of Photo-Etched in the kit. They are the mirrors to be installed in the canopy and railings on the walls of the air intakes of the engine:

Front and back of the first tree:

The holds of the trains-to-landing are well detailed. I am not a good photographer, so I opted to take the pictures close without using the flash:

The parts that make up the air intake of the auxiliary engine comes with the option of being assembled open or closed. The play is not leaked, then open the configuration there is concern that it is showing a 'hollow' of the model. However, detailing the painting of this piece will take some work:

Second tree. Duplex:

Details of the drift:

The trains-to-landing:

Lower surface of one wing:

Trees with transparencies:

Third tree. Duplex:

Details of instrument panels:

Details of the islands side:

Fourth tree, re-sided. This tree is provided in duplicate in the kit:

Tree Farm:

Sixth tree and three pieces that are provided out of the trees of the kit:

Finally, the last piece of kit. This also comes loose.

As said earlier in the review, I'm not very good at it. First I am not a good photographer and secondly because my time is short enough to produce something more detailed.

AFV is currently working on the design of the F-5F on the same scale. As you could observe the provision of parts, this kit has been designed with the possibility of future releases, with few modifications. In version F, must be present at least one version of decals for the Brazilian Air Force.

The manufacturer sets the conversion and complete models in resin Real Model, Czech Republic, has become one of the most innovative brands in modern models and rich in detail.

The set of wheels in resin for the M923 military truck "Big Foot" is no exception. They are very well molded and copied with many details that no longer apparent in any modern truck scale 1 / 35 with a really aggressive look and realistic.

Review US1st Cavalry 1 / 35 Dragon

dragon-1-35-us-1st-cavalry-000

If you are looking for finely crafted and detailed figures of the Vietnam War and a small price, this set of Dragon was made for you.

The set 3312 of "Nam" Series, US1st Cavalry on the scale 1 / 35 follows the quality of the pictures of the Dragon. Very well detailed, the kit brings a great addition to the soldiers "collection" of accessories such as canteens, grenades, small knapsacks, bayonets, radio and - of course - right arms to accompany soldiers of the time. M16A1 rifles are, XM177, a grenade launcher and M60 machine gun.

Review F-105D Thunderchief 1 / 72 Trumpeter

Posted by Marcelo On August - 15-2009

The Chinese manufacturer Trumpeter undoubtedly came to tinker with the market. With relatively inexpensive kits, new "titles" and extremely well detailed, the models of the Trumpeter beat competitors before ubiquitous in the list of the best models on the market.

One example of well-made templates is the kit of the F-105 Thunderchief in scale 1 / 72. Mutibo very detailed and injected, the model seems to have no defects that disqualify. On the contrary.

Cannon on display with door open, flaps injected separately to be positioned downloaded refueling probe extended lines in low relief and very well designed are just some of the attractions of this model.

img_1458

img_1457

The kit comes with a choice of markings and paint schemes for aircraft two color patterns - natural and metal amuflagem South East Asia, both paintings used in Vietnam.

The decals are well printed and there is a need for new decals for the kit. Stencils and yellow stripes for pumps complete the set of markings.

img_1451

The canopy can be left open or closed, with the interior of the cockpit, which is quite detailed, showing.

The arms supplied in the kit are the traditional MK-82 bombs and missiles Bulpup, both used in Southeast Asia. Besides the bombs, three external fuel tanks are present.

This kit is certainly worth every penny and is not afraid to miss the best F-105D on the market today. Nota 10!

Review Decal Star 1 / 35 decal FCM

fcm-insignias-americanas-1-35-001

Who rides militaria know how complicated it is to find the correct stars and well printed when we want to reform an old kit or a vesa mount not on the original sheet of decal kit.

Thinking about making the national FCM decal decal launched some time ago a decal sheet filled with white stars and yellow (U.S. ARMY Insignias, No. 3502), ideal for kits of American World War II, Korean War and Vietnam.

fcm-insignias-americanas-1-35-004

fcm-insignias-americanas-1-35-003

The sheet is very well served with options of various sizes, isolated or surrounded with stars, some of them dashed circles, typical markings applied with stencilled.

What makes this set even more interesting is the presence of numbers 0-9 and white and yellow words U.S. ARMY USA and also these two colors. These supplements are perfect to mount the miniature base any U.S. military until the 80 or so.

fcm-insignias-americanas-1-35-005

Note 10 to the set and recommend that everyone have at home, even if not yet a project to use them.

Review Alouette II 1 / 32 Revell

Posted by Marcelo On August - 15-2009

alouette-024

Usually the helicopter models on large scales are attractive in nature. Large pieces, the show details and a great opportunity to create even more realistic details.

This model from Revell Germany is no different. A beautiful copy that can not miss the collection of any scale model 1 / 32. Highly detailed, this kit once assembled certainly draws the attention of any observer.

alouette-001

The injection is a traditional Revell, with a few barbs but nothing to panic the modeler. The highlights are the large quantity of parts and details. The model can be mounted version with wheels or skis, thus opening a huge range of options for painting and countries.

The model can be fitted with doors open or closed, since the hinges are articulated.

alouette-020

alouette-026

This is a great kit, highly recommended, and that once assembled is very good on the bookshelf of any modeler and will certainly make a difference in naming conventions and exhibitions, since we can hardly find Allouetes 1 / 32 assembled there. Note 10 for this kit.

Review F-22 Raptor 1 / 48 Academy

Posted by Marcelo On July - 18-2009

caixa

The new kit of the F-22 launched recently by the Academy is a kit that impressed by the size of the box, but you equate it opens soon understand why the size, the whole fuselage and wings are summarized in two large halves, top and bottom, facilitating greatly finish the model and placing seams in very easy to be eliminated.

The kit itself has few parts, since the plane is still very little known, even the interior done in the kit is probably speculative, the cockpit is simple and probably soon emerge detailing sets for him.

imagem-0011

The kit offers two trees overhead transparency, a crystal and the other simulating the effect of gold as the plane is real. The decal in the kit is complete and bastate offers no less than eighteen options for different aircraft!

The garrison of the model comprises a pair of sub-alar tanks for transportation missions and weapons are a pair of AIM-9M Sidewinders, a pair of AIM-9X, a pair of bombs GBU-32 and three pairs of AIM-120C, all carried internally into compartments that can be left open. Unlike what we usually see with this kit come with two small tubes of glue to the kit, like what they saw with their kits injected here in Brazil.

Without doubt an excellent addition to any collection of modern fighters and a kit for implementing fast and easy for modellers of all standards.

Review M-109A6 Paladin 1 / 35 Revell

Posted by Marcelo On July - 11-2009

revell-m109a6-paladin-1-35-000

I like this kit. It is robust, complete, one has to be shielded even jeitão. Of course the actual vehicle assistance, as is the same impression to be seen.

But let the kit. The M-109A6 Paladin of Revell in scale 1 / 35 is injected into the dark green plastic and will need good coats of primer or paint it if you want to paint it in areira to represent the type used in Iraq, OIF opreação. Nothing much. The model for Revell, moreover, makes no version in use in the desert. If you want to ride one of these badges should be able to cohere and numbers of other kits.

The details are all there and are injected hinges, rails, rivets and screws - very nice detail when staging a kit of this size.

revell-m109a6-paladin-1-35-007

The model has the features "boxes" on the back of the tower. These "boxes" can be left to the side or back, just like the real vehicle.

Several "jerrycans" are available, but all the version of water transport.

As commander of the armament of the dome kit desponibiliza two options: the traditional .50 machine gun and a grenade launcher Mk.40 - you name it.

revell-m109a6-paladin-1-35-021

The tracks are made of vinyl and are kind of continuous.

The decal sheet provides markings for vehicles used in Bosnia, by KFOR and painting for these cars is the disguised version of NATO, in three shades.

In short, is a great kit. Recommend without fear. Note 10 for sure!

Review F-14A Ali-Cat 1 / 72 Fujimi

Posted by Marcelo On July - 8-2009

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-000

This is the best F-14 scale 1 / 72. I do not doubt that. Just opening the box of the kit already have this certainty: Penus rubber, flaps and slats separate staircase, photoetch for mirrors, turbine and stand outside with radar above are just some of the items that makes the F-14A Ali-Cat's a Fujimi better scale.

The kit evaluated in this version is the Ali-Cat, with a decal to the aircraft IRIAF - Iran and the other two options for the U.S. NAVY aircraft - one of the beautiful VF-111 "Sundowners" and another squadron VF-41 "Black Diamonds" .

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-001

The image of the decal sheet "speaks" for itself. It is very comprehensive and one set is printed, lots of stencils and does not require the use of sheets.

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-002

The canopy is molded with the correct curvature (negative) and the kit has a set of photoetch for mirrors and other details of coverage. Very nice and helpful, even at this scale!

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-009

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-010

The whole kit is in low relief, very well and injected with precise details. The forward fuselage has opening for docking to the stairs and doors to access the cockpit. A very nice kits for this scale.

Rubber tires give it a charm of its own. If you do not like the finish can be painted too.

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-018

The special touch of the kit are the external turbines and very detailed. They can be mounted on "stands" as if they were in keeping off the plane. This very nice detail!

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-024

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-025

The pilots have their heads wrapped externally, ok that provides the Possibility of using them only as helmets, decorating the interior or edges of the cockpit. Ah, the hose of the mask is present too!

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-026

The armament is the staple of any F-14 of the 80. Nothing new.

f-14-fujimi-alicat-1-72-027

A detail that deserves mention is the option of installing the radar of hunting in open or closed position. That really is rare to come in boxes of kits 1 / 72. Resin for what this F-14!?
