Comparison Eurocopter EC145 1 / 72 Revell and Heller

ec145-box

The EC-145 is the natural evolution of the BK-117, with many improvements already excellent BK. The big changes were in the avionics and a small increase in internal space. Small on the outside and big inside, powerful and agile, was chosen by the U.S. Army as a successor to the UH-1H, competing with the Bell 412 and MD 900.

This review will address the two kits scale 1 / 72 of the EC-145 available: the Revell and Heller. Both excellent models, and injected in a compraração that are almost tied.

In general the kit by Revell Germany is thinner, and better finished. But suffers the lack of options.

The Heller kit compensates with a wide choice of detail during assembly. Long skids, floats, radar, rescue hoist, and an interior ambulance.

The Revell kit comes in basic internal configuration, only with seats for passengers.

The Heller also allowed the assembly of the large rear doors and sliding doors open.

The Revell kit has an injection with an impeccable quality, lower case detailed parts and free of burrs, earning valuable points against Heller.

The Revell decals of two paint options (Eurocopter demonstrator and Police Hessen) out in front, showing a much higher quality and resolution to Heller, who represents the unit of Civil Security.

Below is a video of the EC145 in action:

Review Scout 1 / 72 Airfix

scout1

Review by: Guilherme Maranhão

This small multi-function helicopter from the beginning of the 60s is represented by only two kits in two different scales and in two versions: the first is an old Airfix kit of the terrestrial version equipped with skis, the Scout, scale 1 / 72 and the other kit is the least popular Wasp, the naval version equipped with wheels, produced by Fujimi in scale 1 / 48. Came the Internet many conversions done on scratch Scout for the Wasp and vice versa.

scout-1

The Airfix Scout must be a release not much younger than the own helicopter. It is a kit full of limitations and at the same time is a great kit. The pilots' seats are just flat pieces in L. The only command is the pilot's cyclic, collective and pedals are not part of the kit. Already the whole turbine / transmission is almost complete: transmission, axle box and the turbine nimbus accessories are included. The latter in some detail and leave the model incrementally to take care of scratching. The main rotor is simply a thin shaft that must be glued to the rotor hub. Links step change will depend on the modeler. The skis are a set of fine lattices, and even not appearing, are easy to assemble and become firm after glued.

Generic two figures well known to anyone who already assembled kits from Airfix, are included.

scout-2

The side windows are four on each side, and Airfix were made in one piece, rich in burrs like the rest of the kit. The windshield and windows from the ceiling in a single joint has guides for making masks, requires a good search on photos to find out where are the frames.

scout-3

The decals are reasonable and matte, represantam a unit of the Royal Army and a rare copy Jordanian white and red, possibly a plug or VIP transport.

Review BK 117 1 / 72 Revell

bk-117-revell

This is a re-release of 1992 Revell kit of a former matchbox. The kit is simple but honest, external details are confined to the panels that mark the recessive doors. But the VOR antenna in the form of U are present as well as pitot tubes in the nose, handles on the hoods of the turbines and the windshield wipers. The main rotor is well done, shows the balances at the root of each blade (rotor Bölkow characteristics) as well as the links change of pace.

The Helicopter setup Cub comes with 5 seats (2 +3) in the passenger cabin - in high-density configurations this small helicopter takes up to 9 passengers plus two pilots. The cockpit comes with the pilots' seats, pedals and cyclic controls the levers of command collective have been forgotten, but are easily made at scratch. A decal is provided for the main panel.

The decals are for only one version, but are extensive and detailed. Represent the BK 117A-4 demonstrator of MBB with the colorful painting Raumschiff (spacecraft) signed by German designer Luigi Colani in 1986.

Review EC 135 1 / 72 Revell Germany

The EC-135 is part of the modern generation of helicopters from the Franco-German Eurocopter. The Revell German Eurocopter launched some models in kits: the Bo-105 (only in 1 / 32), Bk-117, EC-145 and our CE-135 in 1 / 72 and 1 / 32.

The review deals with the kit 1 / 72 German air medical setting. It is a kit full of options and a cabin full of special equipment that version "ambulance". The kit is very detailed, with lower panels and plastic is injected into yellow.

Despite being a top-line kit, presents a few burrs. The main rotor blades came with their direction of rotation reversed, that is the correct turn in a counterclockwise direction. Drift just above the Fenestron has a height slightly greater than the correct as well.

Although the variant of the box and the alternative is vesões aero is possible to make a model or VIP transport (the kit is provided with such parts.)

The decals are of excellent quality (printed in Italy) and represent the ADAC German and Austrian ÖAMTC - providing both rescue the autobahn.

This is a beautiful kit, the quality is impressive even with the limitation of 1 / 72 scale. Worth every penny.
