I confess that I was surprised with this book. It was not what I hoped for - is better. The book of the Osprey "M1 Abrams vs. T-72 Ural - Operation Desert Storm" is a true parallel comparison between the two tanks.

Written by renowned Steven J. Zaloga, the book provides numerous photographs, drawings in cutting and color profiles of the two main battle tanks used by the main forces that participated in the 1991 conflict.

Full color, Zaloga's book shows not only external details of the vehicles but also shows internal details, rarely seen in other publications.

Not long ago was so happy to receive and browse aviation. The research work carried out by Paulo Fernando Kasseb in his book "Mirage III EBR - DBR the Brazilian Air Force - FAB", published by FTA is an exquisite work.

With 122 pages, the book shows - and not merely that - all the conceptual and operational life of the Mirage IIIE / DBR in FAB. Filled with color photos and black and white, enriched with beautiful profiles Gilsomar Maroc, one of the most distinguished illustrators aviation country, the work can not stay away from the shelf of any lover of modern military aviation in Brazil or worldwide.

Recently, the English publisher Osprey Publishing , which specializes in books related to military and historical subjects, he launched another series title New Vanguard. The number 153 in the series is created by renowned author Steven Zaloga and covers the history of armored M551 Sheridan.

Illustrated with color photos and black and white designs, and cutting profiles, the book is a guide for those wanting to know more about the armored airborne, with special focus on Sheridan.

There are 50 pages of accurate and well ordered, with profiles of the leading colored paint schemes of armor.

The highlight for me is the information about the use of Sheridan in combat in both Vietnam and in more recent comflitos, as in Panama and the Gulf War of 1991.

However, if your interest is more technical, this information is also in this book.

It's a totally recommended reading and that can not miss on the shelf of anyone interested in militaria, modeling or military history.

When I received the book, purchased directly from the author, impressed me greatly and positively. The quality - even on the cover - is really beyond the standards we are accustomed to find in books linked to this issue in Brazil.

The work of photographer gaucho Luciano Souza is a true book of the military art of photography. With images of all models of tanks currently in use in Brazil, the book shows pictures of vehicles in action famous, like M113, EE-9 Cascavel, EE-11 Urutu, Leopard among others.

This is not, however, a work style "walkarounds" with photos of details and paint schemes. But that does not detract from the value of this wonderful work, that is - say by the way - fully supported by the Brazilian Army.

Besides the photos of the vehicles the player can also find pictures of columns of armored vehicles and training camps.

The work deserves a score of 10 and is fully recommended for anyone who enjoys and is interested in military affairs, model or want to have an example of photographic work well done.

This Argentine publication of 32 pages, 6 of them in color (cover and interior) is a great example of that quality graphic design need not be extensive.

Almost a paperback book, this work of George F. Padín Núñez, one of the most renowned researchers in aviation in Argentina, is an example that should be part of any modern military aviation enthusiast, whether or not modeler.

The book contains text and photos covering the entire life of the venerable A-4Q Skyhawk Argentine naval aviation.

Generously illustrated with rare photos and color profiles of the A-4Q, the highlight is the section reserved for the participation of "Q" in the Falklands conflict in 1982, and complete listing of aircraft, with what happened with each of them .

Among the images are pictures of paintings and experimental examples in action.

The print quality is impressive, made on a strong paper with colored sections and finished in bright varnish, which gives a touch of professionalism to the job.

Highly recommended and certainly deserves a great 10.

It's a good book if you are seeking information from text, such as the history of the vehicle or its variants, now, if your intention is to have a good illustrated reference for modeling, the book is weak. Another lack in this book, and common in works of other publishers, it has no color profiles. This type of illustration is greatly appreciated by modellers and readers of books of reference and certainly would make up the difference to note in this book.
